Slapped 7-8 times, kicked in chest and sensitive parts: Swati Maliwal in FIR
In an early morning encounter on Thursday, a murder suspect identified as Izhar was killed, and his accomplice, Talib, was injured in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district. The duo was involved in a heinous crime, having murdered Mohd Ayaz, a 32-year-old salesman who ran a jewelry shop near Samdhan town in Kannauj. The incident occurred on January 5 at the Gurusahaiganj market, where they looted ornaments and cash totaling ₹50 lakh.
According to Prashant Kumar, the director general of Uttar Pradesh Police, the assailants shot Mohd Ayaz dead while he was returning home after closing his shop. The loot included gold and silver ornaments worth ₹35 lakh. The police team successfully traced the suspects, initiating a confrontation during a routine vehicle check.
In the exchange of gunfire, two constables, Aman Singh and Vinay Kumar, were injured, while both suspects sustained gunshot wounds. Izhar succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital, while Talib is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The police recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments, along with ₹20 lakh in cash from the perpetrators.
